The barge (tjalk) Middelsee is a sporty and sturdy sailing ship, which will bring you, with much or little wind, wherever you want to go. In 1899 the ship was built by shipyard Draaisma in Franeker. The barge is especially fast because of her rigging and the imposing streamlined hull. The compact size of this impressive barge makes the ship perfectly suitable for sailing trips on the Frisian inland waterways. Below decks you find the mahogany-timbered pantry with open galley, and the characteristic brass lamps offer a warm and nautical sphere. The spacious huts have plenty of storage spacer for your luggage. Daylight nicely lights up the salon. You are able to stand upright in the entire ship. The most part of the ship has been renovated in the winter of 2008-2009. In short, this is a perfect ship for groups who both like sailing and having fun.
