In former days the Grundel was a transportationship at the Harlemmersea. Normally built with a length between 6 and 8 metres.
Characteristic features of a Grundel are the sharp bow and the flat stern. A very nice and easy to handle boat for 2 persons to try out sailing with a traditional yacht.
The homeport of the Volharding is Leeuwarden Friesland. This water offers beautifull flora and fauna. With this ship an unforgetable sailingtrip is guaranteed.
At the request of several guests: In the winter 2014/2015 the "noisy" gasoline outboard motor will be replaced by a whisper-quiet electric motor. With the battery capacity you drive 8 hours under full load, without requiring recharging the battery. Silence on board while sailing by engine !
We also install an easy to handle mast lowering system. Then you can pass almost all solid bridges in Friesland (thus increases the driving area of our Grundel enormous).
